Data Protection Act
The Data Protection Act of 2000 states that any information
relating to individuals held across all files, such as computer
CD’s and disks, must be maintained and disposed of in
a secure manner. This Act also protects any personal information
such as ethic origin, religious beliefs, physical or mental
health and criminal offences. Due to increased powers of the
Data Protection Agency, failure to comply with the above could
now result in prosecution.
